Part 1 of Stories before the cold.

Synopsis

About the show

On a desolate stage a dreamer emerges to tell three tales:

  • A sailor who chases the impossible horizon until there is nothing left to chase.

  • A king who loses himself in paranoia and mice in the cracks of his crumbing throne room.

  • A voiceless boy who learns the language of birds.

My Oh My Mr. Dream is a darkly comedic meditation on loneliness and the power of being witness.

Mr. Dream has watched every dream humanity has ever had, but he's never learned how to stop being alone.

''When one looks from above he cant help but see the deep dark details.''

- Mr. Dream

Themes: Dreams/ Storytelling/ isolation/ immortality/ time/ Scottish folklore/ solo performance.

Please note: This performance includes sensory elements (incense/scent, atmospheric lighting, soundscape.)

Why this play matters?

Mr. Dream matters because it confronts the quiet extinction of imagination in the age of noise. It asks what happens when wonder, mystery and dreaming. the things that define us begin to fade. Beneath its surreal poetry and cosmic strangeness, the play is about loneliness: The loneliness of creation, of being alive, of finding meaning when the world no longer needs it. In Mr. Dream, storytelling becomes both rebellion and salvation. A way of saying that as long as someone can still dream, humanity endures. It matters because it refuses to let the light go out.
